Our 2014 Campaign Kickoff & Plane Pull is right around the corner! Set for September 12, this year’s event is filling up quickly and promises to be an exciting start to the annual campaign.

Plane Pull

Assemble a crew of your strongest, most caring employees, co-workers and friends to compete with teams from across Winnipeg to pull a McDonnell Douglas DC-9 (90,000lb) or Boeing 727 (191,000lb) across 20 feet of tarmac! It’s a short-haul flight to the finish line for bragging rights and the chance to experience what it means to pull together and change lives in Winnipeg.

Register your team soon to make sure you secure a spot for this sell-out event! A registration fee of $250 will be invoiced to your workplace, and includes lunch for everyone and a chance at some great prizes!

Your team can also fundraise which will provide a mighty boost to your workplace campaign, AND give you a chance at even more amazing prizes…

Team Spirit Prize

Plane Pull is all about doing good and having fun while you’re at it.  The Team Spirit Prize is awarded to the team that best embraces the spirit of the event. So think up a costume and practice your cheer and your team could win one round of free mini golf at the Golf Dome!

Team Steam Prize

Rev your engines and show us that your crew has what it takes to pull our McDonnell Douglas DC-9 (90,000lb) or Boeing 727 (191,000lb) across 20 feet of tarmac the fastest. The team with the fastest pull time will receive 20 bowling passes for one free game at Dakota Bowling (DC-9) or Academy Lanes (727).

Participant Fundraising Prize

Every participant who raises $50+ online by Thursday, August 28 at 9:00 pm will receive a Plane Pull t-shirt.

Top Fundraising Team*

The team with the highest fundraising total will win 20 tickets to a Winnipeg Blue Bombers home game in October. On-field trophy presentation and public recognition as a Community Heroes workplace.

Available to the top 3 fundraising individuals.**

Choice between one of two $1000 Esso gift cards or a roundtrip for two courtesy of VIA Rail Canada.***

Sausage Party Fundraiser.If your stomach was lucky enough to enjoy last year’s mouth-watering Baconfest, you’ll be first in line for tickets to Ace Burpee & Virigin 103.1 FM‘s Sausage Party!

John Coleshaw Sr. is a prolific, 80 year-old artist from Regina. His abstract work has been described as a vibrant, colourful expression of “a gentle and generous soul.”

And now some of this lovely work can be yours! All it takes is a donation towards creating opportunities for success in your city.

Mr. Coleshaw’s family – long time donors to United Way of Winnipeg – are hosting an ‘Art Giveaway by Donation’ share-raiser, where you can come select a piece of artwork for the cost of a sealed envelope donation payable to United Way of Winnipeg.

Ace Burpee has set out to raise $100,000 for the United Way this Fall. Along with HOT103, he presents the first-ever Baconfest in Winnipeg!
