A grieving family finds their way.

Cindy and her family.

On December 27, 2008, Cindy Little was thrown into a state of shock and disbelief when her husband Chris died unexpectedly.

I didn’t expect anything like this to happen to me, let alone my family. I was numb for weeks not really knowing what to do but sort out the funeral.”

Having no life insurance, it was all she could do to get back on her feet and care for her preschoolers Zack and Holly, and her home.

Thankfully, United Way agency partner the Family Centre was there to help Cindy and her kids through one of the toughest ordeals a family can face.

They provided in home support, helped her get the kids into a subsidized day care, and offered counselling.

Thank goodness they were there for me when I needed it—financially, emotionally and physically.”

Like thousands of other Winnipeggers Cindy and her family continue to benefit from the programs and services your support for United Way makes possible.

Without you, there would be no way.
