What do Winnipeggers want? What does our community need? Where do we have the greatest opportunity to move forward and make a real difference?
The path to a more compassionate, just society is lit by dialogue. Our shared future moves into focus when people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences come together to talk about it.
This was the volunteer-driven vision of United Way’s Red Table Dinners this past June, during which more than 600 Winnipeggers came together to break bread in small groups and have a city-wide conversation about how we can make our city better for everyone.

The #1 vision and hope expressed for Winnipeg’s future was for a more inclusive city,
The most important issue identified is Homelessness, while Red Table diners felt the best thing about living in Winnipeg is its size and sense of community. Increasing community-based programming is by far the way to support and strengthen families, participants reported.
United Way is pleased to work with Winnipeggers towards a better Winnipeg and we will continue to listen to your voices to learn what is important to you.
