Winnipeg brought home the bacon for United Way with Baconfest II!
Inspired by Ace Burpee to ‘take it to the next level’ this year, Winnipeg’s chefs stepped up and tested the limits of what you can make with bacon. The University of Winnipeg’s Richardson College was packed with participants tasting bacon espresso, bacon-bacon-bacon-bacon buns, bacon bannock, bacon jam, and even maple bourbon bacon lollipops – all in support of United Way.
Baconfest II was presented by 103.1 Virgin Radio, Diversity Foods and Bistro Seven and a Quarter. Restaurants involved this year, include Bistro Seven and a Quarter, Elements-The Restaurant, The Tallest Poppy, Cake-ology, Deseo Bistro, Brooklynn’s Bistro, Jonnie’s Sticky Buns, Hermanos, Deer + Almond, Segovia Tapas Bar, Half Pints Brewing Co. and The Grove Pub and Restaurant. Last year’s event raised more than $9000 for United Way of Winnipeg.
A big thank you to all of you!
