Do the Winnipeg Jets rock your world?
Rock on with a custom electric guitar signed by the team’s players.
Travel Manitoba is auctioning off the instrument on eBay, with proceeds to United Way as part of their workplace campaign. Bidding starts on December 15 and ends December 19.
Made of solid wood and fully playable, the guitar would make a great gift for a hockey fan, musician or collector – all while helping build a stronger, safer, healthier Winnipeg.
The guitar was built by École Selkirk Junior High students in the BOSS (Building on Student Success) Guitar Works program, in collaboration with Travel Manitoba and the Winnipeg Jets. It features the autographs of the inaugural team and is affixed with the full-colour, trademarked Jets logo.
Since the fall of 2010, BOSS student and staff volunteers have helped to raise more than $52,450 for several charities and organizations by building custom guitars for auction. Past BOSS guitars have been signed by musicians from Randy Bachman, Hedley, and The Beach Boys to other celebrities and public figures including Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, U.S. President Bill Clinton and others.
