Cambrian Credit Union is off to a resounding start

The beat of drums gave a resounding start to Cambrian Credit Union’s annual United Way workplace campaign.

At their kickoff event, held last night at Rumor’s Restaurant and Comedy Club, inspiring performances by drummers from the Buffalo Gals of the North End Women’s Centre and Manitoba School Improvement Program’s Peaceful Village initiative had employees up and dancing in their seats by the end of the night.

“It was just their pure enthusiasm,” says Carly Parsons, a Financial Service Officer at Cambrian. “They’re so open, and when they talk about what United Way has done for them, it’s just infectious. You feel compelled to do more when you see all they can do with just the little we’re able to do for them.”

The performances marked the official start of Cambrian Credit Union’s year-round support for United Way, marked by events like an annual garage sale and barbeque, United Way casual Fridays in summer, a Day of Caring, and much more.

Up next is participation in United Way’s Plane Pull on September 21st with their team, the Unfee-table Cambrianites. The enthusiastic team is raising funds and plans to bring along a full roster of cheerleaders as well – good luck!
