Not at all. A plan to do kindness can be just one person. For past Conscious Kindness Days, groups of people – like schools or workplaces – have collaborated to on everything from cookie giveaways to community clean-ups. Any kindness, large or small, creates more kindness!
Is there a hashtag?
Yes! Use #LocalLove to share your kind acts on social media!
How will United Way know my business/org/school is part of Kindness Day?
We, and many others, will be watching the #LocalLove hashtag on social media. You can also tag us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram!
How is Conscious Kindness different from Random Acts of Kindness?
Conscious Kindness is literally the opposite of Random Acts of Kindness! It’s conscious. It’s intentional. It comes from the “golden rule” belief that we create the kind of community we want to live in by treating others with the respect, love and care that we want to be treated with ourselves.
Why do it? The effect of kindness is profound. It changes the giver, and the receiver. Read the “Why kindness?” section beneath this FAQ section!
