There’s a new formula for success emerging among the millennial generation that’s causing organizations to think differently.

Being professionally successful isn’t enough for us – we need and want our work to connect us to a higher purpose.

We have the will and the energy, but it isn’t always easy to see how we can personally effect change through our work in Winnipeg, or to realize how we can make a big difference in the community.

United Way Winnipeg’s GenNext Summit is a day-long gathering of the next generation of community leaders, to activate our ideas about how we take care of each other in this city and to empower each other to challenge conventional beliefs about how we think, live and act.

What can you expect at the Summit?

The next generation has already challenged the status quo in the workforce, and the GenNext Summit brings together the people who think disruptively about our roles in pushing forward the change that we want to see in our city. We know our life means more than the work we do, and the Summit strives to reduce the barriers to community involvement—and make the introduction to why we can be more impactful when we work together.

This year’s Summit, emceed by Keith Macpherson, celebrates the innovation happening right here in our city—giving access to inspiration from forward-thinkers who created a new experience that didn’t exist before; who saw an alternative way of doing things to solve a problem; or who simply committed to doing something differently in their own life to make a big difference in another life.
