Winter’s on its way and Winnipeggers are being asked to help make it a warmer one for disadvantaged kids by donating gently-used outerwear to Koats for Kids.

The annual coat drive starts today at 11 a.m. at the United Way Koats for Kids Volunteer Centre at 3172 Portage Ave. There, volunteers sort and clean the donated items.

Donations of good quality winter outerwear can be dropped off at any Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Station or Perth’s location.

Since 1989, Koats for Kids has collected and distributed more than 145,000 items free of charge to needy Winnipeg families.
