To the team at MNP, United Way doesn’t just bring the community together, it brings their staff together.
This year, they pulled together in the Plane Pull for the first time, hosted a dessert bakeoff and a chili cookoff – and brought back the popular partner auction to serve as the big finale.
For the auction, partners at the firm came up with unique experiences they offered up on the auction block to raise money for United Way – one partner offered up his cabin at Lake of the Woods for the winning bidder, complete with a steak and lobster feast. Others planned out hockey packages, golf packages, and scotch tastings to entice bidders – and it worked, with more than $7000 raised from the auction alone!
The whole campaign is great for team building, says Employee Campaign Chair Stacy Loree. “You get a chance to meet people you’ve never ever worked with – and people get really excited about bidding on these auction prizes!”
“It’s our firm value that we want to be involved in the community, and what better way to help out than an organization that directly impacts the community we live in?” she says. “It’s easy to support it.”
