Share your warmth this winter!

26 years and 178,000 warm winter items later, we’re kicking off another season of Koats for Kids!

103.1 Virgin Radio’s Chrissy Troy and CTV weather specialist Colleen Bready opened the donation season at John M. King School this morning.

A quick quiz of the kids showed just how many pieces of warm clothing are needed for kids to walk to school, play outside, and participate in our Winnipeg winters. Sometimes having something warm to wear makes all the difference in a child’s school attendance.

Enormous thanks to John M. King for hosting the launch, and for our partners AMJ Campbell Van Lines, Perth’s, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, 103.1 Virgin Radio, 99.9 BOB FM and the Winnipeg Sun. Thanks also to Modular Storage for their donation of storage units.

And we can’t forget all these generous organizations who are supporting Koats for Kids early on in the season by running collection drives at their workplaces this fall!

  • Monarch Industries
  • Dynasty Bathrooms
  • West 49 – St. Vital
  • Girl Guides of Canada
  • Hair Do Zoo

And thank you, kind Winnipeggers, for all that coats that came in to our office the past few weeks are part of the Peace Days’ Compassion Games.

You can bring your gently-used winterwear to any Perth’s or WFPS location. Large donations can be dropped off at AMJ Campbell Van Lines. Thank you for sharing your warmth!
