Compelling stories, compelling need

Speakers Bureau offers an exciting way to raise awareness about issues within Winnipeg, thank generous donors, inspire new support, and grow your United Way Winnipeg campaign.

Speakers Bureau volunteers are the voice of the very real and lasting change that is possible in our city when people support United Way Winnipeg.

Each year, over 100 speakers share their stories of triumph over adversity with workplaces throughout the city. They connect the dots between generous donations, the critical work of our agency partners, and the power of healing and growth that’s possible when we all work together.

Choose from a collection of pre-recorded speaker videos or request a speaker to join your virtual or in-person campaign event. Most presentations last about ten minutes but can be adjusted for easy inclusion in any number of workplace campaign activities.

Why hear from a United Way Winnipeg speaker?

  • It's informative.

All speakers come directly from our agency partners. Some are staff, others are volunteers, and some are folks who have experienced a profound change in their lives thanks to the support of the agency, program, and staff.

  • It’s meaningful.

Agencies are proud of the work they do. Agency clients share that being able to speak about their experience is a valuable part of their healing. Donors appreciate knowing what their money makes possible.

  • It’s personal.

The first-hand experience and human connection of a speaker can, like nothing else, reach people and transform your campaign.
