Winnipeggers walk their way to $100,000!

Walking for a better Winnipeg.

Kicking off our fundraising campaign together, apart.

As a community, united, you stepped up in a BIG way for our Walk This Way event and walked and incredible 36,015 kilometres across this great city—igniting a $100,000 donation by our incredible campaign sponsors!

Through parks, along sidewalks, in neighbourhoods and across the downtown, you strolled and hiked and biked and rolled. On your own or in socially distanced groups, you demonstrated how much you love Winnipeg. Every step you took is a step forward in the rally toward recovery and inclusion in our community.

“Today really is about shining light on community,” said Dave Angus, volunteer Winnipeg campaign chair for United Way.

“Through this tough time we have to remind ourselves collectively that there are people out there struggling and they need our help, so this is a time for giving.”

Getting fall fundraising off on the right foot

Dave was excited to see so many Winnipeggers out in the community today, all with one goal in mind: a better community for everyone who lives here.

We are so grateful to Payworks, Rogers, SkipTheDishes, TD, and Wawanesa Insurance for showing their support and sponsoring this day of active celebration. Their generous collective donation of $100,000 will be spent helping to build a better Winnipeg for everyone.

Thank you to our community partners!

This is the year to give back

None of us could have imagined the challenges our community is facing as a result of a global pandemic. The needs in our community are greater than ever—mental health and addictions, family stress, job loss.

The message is simple—we need you. We need everyone. Every gift matters.

That’s why Johnston Group is matching every new gift of $150—just about $3/week! Take the 150 Challenge now, so no Winnipegger is left behind.
