United Way Winnipeg, who will be ensuring the funds are having the greatest impact in the community, has announced the agencies who will be receiving a portion of these funds:
- Bruce Oake Foundation
- EAGLE Urban Transition Centre
- End Homelessness Winnipeg
- Holy Names House of Peace
- Main Street Project
- Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba
- North Point Douglas Women’s Centre
- Siloam Mission
- Spence Neighbourhood Association
Each of these agencies will report back to United Way Winnipeg on the impact that these Winnipeggers’ dollars have made. Funds will be distributed to these agencies by May 18, and these agencies will be reporting back to United Way Winnipeg on how those funds were utilized.
In addition to the funds raised, 1,500 free tickets to the #WPGWhiteout Street Parties were distributed to Winnipeggers through 43 different agencies – providing opportunities for Jets fans who might otherwise not have been able to participate, to celebrate with their friends and neighbours.
