True North Square Plaza was packed with passion and pride at lunchtime Tuesday as the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club announced the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Parties will again take over downtown this spring—and help strengthen our community through United Way Winnipeg.

“Not only do Whiteout parties benefit downtown businesses and raise money for housing and mental health supports—they’re a fantastic way to come together as a community,” Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew said to a cheering crowd.

The Winnipeg Whiteout Street Parties are a celebrated hometown tradition, with Winnipeg Jets fans rallying along Donald Street outside Canada Life Centre before each home playoff game to cheer on the team and come together as a city. The Street Parties have attracted more than 170,000 fans since their debut in 2019.

This year, the parties will again be ticketed events, with $5 from each $10 ticket reinvested into the community through United Way Winnipeg to agencies whose work supports those in our city experiencing homelessness, addictions, and mental health challenges. Fans can also get together at True North Square Plaza for a more intimate party atmosphere hosted by Hargrave St. Market. $5 from each $20 Party in the Plaza ticket will also be shared with United Way Winnipeg.

"Huge thanks to all the fans heading downtown to celebrate—your love for the Jets is making a real, lasting difference."

United Way Winnipeg 2025 volunteer Campaign Chair JP Perron thanks Jets fans for their generosity and love of community at the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Parties announcement on Tuesday, April 8.

To date, more than $312,000 has supported the life-changing work of agencies like N’Dinawemak—Our Relatives’ Place, Main Street Project, Velma’s House, Astum Api Niikinaahk, and the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.

“Moments like these, like today, remind us how powerful it is when we come together for something bigger than ourselves,” said JP Perron, United Way Winnipeg 2025 Campaign Chair. “Huge thanks to all the fans heading downtown to celebrate—your love for the Jets is making a real, lasting difference. It’s been amazing to team up with The Jets and True North on this. Their commitment to the community is inspiring, and I’m so grateful for the positive impact they’re helping create for Winnipeggers.

Produced by True North Sports + Entertainment, the events are a partnership of the Province of Manitoba, the City of Winnipeg, and Economic Development Winnipeg.

Game dates and times will be announced in the coming weeks. Hallmarks of the Whiteout parties include large screens broadcasting the Jets games, entertainment, guest hosts and DJs, a variety of food truck and concession options, prizes and giveaways, Jets Gear and more.
